S. Giovanni Paolo II

 

Karol Wojtyla proveniente dalla Polonia comunista dell'est, è stato eletto Papa il 16 ottobre 1978, è stato il primo Papa non italiano dopo 455 anni (dal 1523)

Wojtyla ha suscitato subito simpatia e ammirazione dal popolo cristiano e non, per le sue vedute molto aperte, e anticonformiste.

 

Papa operaio, e Papa viaggiatore, sono alcune "nomine" che ha ricevuto, per il suo modo anticonvenzionale di essere Papa.

 

Il primo Papa a entrare in una sinagoga e in una moschea.

Il primo Papa ad assistere ad un concerto rok, e ad una partita di calcio.

 

Il suo motto mariano, "Totus tuus sum, Maria et omnia mea tua sunt", (Io sono tutto tuo e tutto ciò che è mio è tuo), enuncia la sua devozione alla Madonna.

Karol Wojtyla coming from the Est side communist Poland, was elected Pope the 16^thOctober 1978, he was the first non –Italian Pope after 455 years (since 1523). Karol Wojtyla immediately aroused sympathy and admiration by the Christian and non Christian people, as he was an open minded and unconventional person.

He was a worker and a travelling Pope, for this reason he received these two “nominations” for his anusual behavior as a Pope. He was the first Pope to enter a synagogue and a mosque, the first Pope to attend a rock concert and a football game.

 

He used to pronounce these words: ”Totus Tuus sum, Maria et omnia mea tua sunt” (I am completely yours and everything is mine is yours), this states his complete devotion to Our Lady.
